Raft Guide Bio of Heather Whalen

Heather began her rafting career in 2001. She was an Activities Director for a kids summer program and thought a trip down the Hudson River would be a great experience for them. From that day she was instantly hooked, always wrangling friends and family in for another one of Heather's fun adventures down the river.

One day while in graduate school fate worked it's magic connecting Heather and Becky. They would meet early before class to commiserate of their grueling grad work and looking forward to finding relief on the river. Heather started working for North Creek Rafting, her home away from home. If weather allowed for year round rafting in NY, that is where she would be. However, during the school year she moonlights as a Speech Pathologist working with preschoolers with autism.

If you can't find Heather on the river, you can find her outdoors (hiking, swimming, gardening, biking, skiing), going on her own fun adventures with her chocolate lab Colden.
