The 17 mile overnight trip starts on the Indian River with 3 miles of exciting Class III rapids, we reach the Hudson and can choose a campsite above the Gorge and save the heavy whitewater for Day 2. It is possible to camp within the Gorge when water levels and group sizes allow. All sites are ideal for fishing, swimming and hiking.
The 24 mile trip begins on the Upper-Upper Hudson River in the Town of Newcomb. This stretch is only an option when water levels are high enough, generally in April, May and June. On Day 1 we travel 9 miles of Class I-II rapids and some flatwater and camp at the confluence of the Cedar and Hudson Rivers. This is a beautiful campsite.
On Day 2 we continue down the Hudson and reach the Indian River after only 2 miles. The confluence of the Indian and Hudson Rivers is where we catch up with the daily release from Lake Abanakee. Then we run the 8 miles of nearly continuous whitewater that we call The Hudson Gorge.
All trips end in North River.
